We want to wish everyone a happy valentines day.

Just like Brendon I haven’t received any secret love cards in the mail yet but I am still keeping my head up because the day isn’t over yet. In case you are in the same boat as us I want to send you our love. Without you we wouldn’t be here and we do thank you!

In other news I have been totally revamping our module, plugin, extension, or whatever you want to call it system. I think this will be a big feature of our script and allow you to add new features without hacking the core system. I have also installed a new extension section on our site where we will list all the ones created. Once we get the next release out (RC1) we will open this up and start documenting it.

In case you skimmed over that, I said RC1. Which will be our first release candidate and we will be putting a feature freeze on the script so if you wish to request any features you should do it now.

Have a great day and don’t eat to many green M&M’s.

I switched from a PC to Mac one year ago and although it was a learning experience I am now in love with the way everything is setup. To be honest I hate having to fire my PC and every time I just cringe with the thought. So to celebrate my one year anniversary I though I would share my list of the best development software for the mac.

Here is a list of the best applications in no particular order.

1. Eclipse

Eclipse is a great application and I used it from my PC days so it will work on both systems. I use it almost daily with the SVN plugin.

2. Coda

Coda is on my list just for the coolness of the app. I like the way it integrates live preview, ftp, and terminal all into one nice little application.

3. TextMate

TextMate is just plain awesome. At first I gave it a try and wasn’t to impressed but for Christmas I decided to purchase it anyway after reading some more reviews on it. I can honestly say I have been using this app more than any others.

4. Transmit

Transmit is an FTP application and before using it I used Cyberduck. In my opinion Transmit is a must have if you work with FTP a lot.

5. Xampp

XAMPP is an easy to install Apache distribution containing MySQL, PHP and Perl. It saved me tons of time and kept me from having to install each one individually.

6. CaptureMe

CaptureMe is a screen shot utility that lets you define the portion of the screen that you want. I use this a lot for helping explain certain actions or for just showing a portion of the page that isn’t an image.

7. TaskPaper

Taskpaper is a GTD application that is just a simple to do list. I am horrible at keep up with things need to be done and this has really been a life saver.

8. SCPlugin

SCPlugin is a subversion application that allows access to Subversion commands from the Finder. I use this all the time.

9. CSS Edit

This is an excellent css editor. Complete with live preview and live editing. I just purchased it but I really enjoy it.

10. iShowU

iShowU is an audio and video screen shot application. A must for creating tutorials.

11. 1Password

1Password is just great. I have so many logins and always want to make sure they are different. This app remembers your passwords no matter which browser you are using. (Except Opera. )

12. Firebug

FireBug is not really an application but a Firefox plugin. This is a must have and I use it daily.

13. Quicksilver

Last but certainly not least is Quicksilver. At first glance Quicksilver is a launcher but oh so much more.

Today I has the bright idea to try and find other commercial software and scripts that are built on the excellent CodeIgniter framework. However through my searches I haven’t been able to really find any. So is 68 Knowledge Base going to be the first? I would think not since the framework is so popular but I guess I can go on record as saying we are the first until I hear otherwise.

On a side note from what I have found really the only software is BambooInvoice which is released GPL and really looks amazing. Although I haven’t needed an invoicing system like this I have looked through it to get ideas.
